Halloween

I'm doing the Halloween Tag this year. You answer 13 questions and then pass it on to some poor unsuspecting soul out in blogger land. Well, I'm passing it on to anyone who wants to do it. My Favourite Place To Buy Books

I just love Book Depository apart from free shipping their selection and prices are great.
My latest order consisted of

Have seen the stage show twice and totally loved it.
If you haven't read any of Jasper Ffordes books do yourself a favour and pick up the first book in the Thursday Next series "The Eyre Affair" as a starter, guarantee you'll be hooked!
Love me some young adult fiction, so will give this a go.
And I have just ordered me some "classics" that I have been wanting to read for years.

I will add these to the collection I already have including "Valley of the Dolls" and "Rosemary's Baby" (which scared the crap out of me, not sure what was scarier the book or the movie?)

Movie Review

Yep still around........life just gets to bloody busy sometimes.

Thanks to Foxtel I recently had the privilege of having the movie channels for free for a couple of weeks and managed to catch up on some of my favorite movies.

One that I hadn't watched for years was Heavenly Creatures, this movie was Kate Winslet's first major role and also starred Melanie Lynskey (who incidently I sat through the whole movie thinking, where have I seen her before??...Google and you will be surprised)

Peter Jackson, from Lord of the Rings fame was co-producer and it was one of his first movies too.

This movie is based on a true story,  set in Christchurch, New Zealand where I grew up and the "incident" referred to happened about 10 years before I was born. My mum actually remembers hearing about it but as she was only about 11 when it happened so she is a bit vague on the details. If you check the details out on IMBD it lists the genre as: Crime, Drama, Romance, Thriller and Biography and I totally agree.

The background to the "incident" takes up 95% of the movie and you can't help feel sorry for everyone involved as the 1950's were really a time of innocence and you had to live a normal life, and what went on behind closed doors stayed there.

I would give this movie a go, it is not really violent except where it needs to be, it deals with "mental illness" in the 50's and it happened in sleepy Christchurch were nothing much ever happens..........

Not my favourite vegetable ........

Personally this is not my favorite vegetable, never has been, never will be but I had bought some last week as MOTH loves it and rather than do the normal thing he loves "Cauliflower With Cheese Sauce" I decided to make a soup with it.

The recipe can be found here Nagi's RecipeTin Eats

It is easy, quick and according to MOTH ...... yummy.
