Then one day she was in an
electronics store and thought WTF and jumped to the dark side and bought a
Kindle, well let me tell you…….I LOVE it!!!!. I have about 100 books on there
waiting to be read, I don’t have to go to the library in all types of weather,
remember to take books back, fork over $$$$ at a book store, then think “where
am I going to store this thing?”
Another bonus is the amount
of free books out there, now some are bad but most of the ones I have read so
far have had a star rating of at least 3 out of 5. I have found new authors and
reconnected with old friends like “Little Women”, “The Time Machine” all for
nothing.
Well that is enough about
my new purchase, now on to other things, including what I have been up to!
Things at work have been
moving at a fast pace since early January. We hosted a meeting with interstate
and overseas visitors, which meant find a venue, then find another venue with a
week to go as your previous booking vanished!, hire furniture for the new
meeting venue, arranging catering, day trips, dinners etc. The people that
attended where lovely, but boy I was sure pleased to see them get out of town
and head back to where they came from LOL.
Considering I had never
organised anything like this before I will give myself a pat on the back and
say “job well done!”
We are moving offices in a
couple of weeks and can only take 2 boxes with us, so I am trying to find the
time to cull my office belongings, today I managed to get half a drawer done,
and amazing what you can find I mean why the hell would I need a torch, would I
be working back so late the lights wouldn’t work anymore, would I need to become
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and venture down to the sewers to kick the ass off a
demon, I think not, so the torch has been recycled to another lucky person :0)
It will be interesting to
see what the other 2 drawers and a huge cupboard offer up when I next get a few
minutes to sort out what I am taking with me.
Our current office is manky, smelly and damp, our new office is in an old building but with a funky refit, which I can't wait to see, we get new furniture, computers, everything hence the reason we are only taking 2 boxes per person
Well summer is at an end
here in the southern hemisphere but I don’t think anyone has told Mother Nature
– this weekend we have a 3 dayer (WHOOOO HOOOO!!!!!) but by Sunday we are
looking at 35C and Monday 36C, but hey I’m not complaining as winter is not my
favourite time of year, but in anticipation of the cooler weather I am
currently knitting up some fingerless gloves, pictures and link to the pattern
will be provided once they are finished.
Well I suppose that this enough
of post just to let you all know that I am still around, and after starting the
year off so well with even getting two blog posts done in one month February
has kind off passed me by in a whirlwind of activity and I can’t believe that
it is March already!
And as the Goddess of Summer heads North
we welcome her sister the Goddess of Autumn......
** Yes these two lovely ladies are in my to do pile
Only 2 boxes......anyway, I love the 2 Fairy sisters...
ReplyDeleteI got a Kindle for Christmas and am as hooked as you... it's too damned easy to buy new books for it though!
ReplyDeleteGood free books here Pixel of Ink ;
DeleteLove the fairies too
ReplyDeleteHaving a nice new office is awesome! But I can tell you it doesn't take long for new crap to accumulate. Soon you will be right next door to me, so we can say hello!
ReplyDeleteAlways back and forth about getting an e-reader. I love the tactility of books and reading them sideways in bed. But yes, ridiculous price and I end up giving them all away afterwards so i don't have to find a place at home for them..
ReplyDeleteDoing some blog hopping and found your blog.
ReplyDeleteI love the fairy's and actually have all four of them. I couldn't decide which one to stitch first, so I started all four of them!
