Quick Update

Well the cooler weather has arrived with a bang. We had decent rain for the first time in months over the weekend and this morning it was 8deg C when I got up. Brrrr.

We are heading over to Melbourne on Friday for a long weekend, catching up with the many friends that now live over there, hitting a couple of AFL games and fingers crossed some shopping. I probably only have Sunday morning to myself but that is enough to send the boys off and give me some me time to hit the stores.

Here is an update of my Lizzie Kate Mystery Sampler as of last weekend. I have now retired it to the "purple basket of works in progress" and pulled out something else that I have had sitting around unfinished for years (photo to come of this later :) )

Sorry for the quality of the photo, it was taken on my phone.........This was the progress to date late Saturday afternoon. I was watching Game of Thrones Season 3 so didn't get as much done as I would like.

I am really enjoying stitching this and as of Sunday afternoon (while watching Mad Men) I had added another pumpkin and I don't have much more to do before part 1 is finished which is the boarder below the two pumpkins.

I Have A New Place To Shop!

And just when you thought I had given up blogging up I pop again LOL!

Things have been hectic over in my small corner of the world and we are currently experiencing a bit of an Indian Summer but the mornings are getting darker and a few nights a couple of weeks ago the hoodie had to come out, but I'm not complaining as I think I am ready for winter and the dragging out of trackie pants and ugg boots.  Any hoo back on to what my post is really about.

When shopping I try to purchase things that don't add to the the woes of the earth and I have found a one stop shop that is great Lush . No testing on animals is another big thing. And the best news is Lush stores can be found in many countries around the world. :)

My current favs are

Ta Da!!!! My first finish for 2014. It is from JCS Halloween Magazine 2008. Called "Smell my Feet" designed by La D Da. Stitched on 14 Ct Aida that I won on a blog giveaway (thanks Kim LOL) and I used DMC threads.

What I Am Working On

Well I have finished one cross stitch project for 2014 (pictures will be posted once I charge my camera). I then decided to go through my WIP/UFO basket, which is huge by the way LOL and grab something out of there to work on.....

I put my hand in......hovered over a ziplock bag......moved my hand again and pulled out the next ziplock bag....opened it up and thought "I don't even remember buying that, let alone starting it". I had put in a grand total of about 30 stitches!! So onto the q-snaps it went I started stitching on it and then had a lightbulb moment as to why it got put in the bucket!! It was stitched on linen and linen is not my most favorite thing to stitch on but I am persevering and it is slowly coming together.

Again a picture of my progress will be posted once the camera is charged :)  But I did go online and find a picture of what it will look like when I have finished..........

Purchased this from Etsy. The sellers name is Britsketch, check her out. Now I just need to find the perfect place to put them....hmmm just repainted the laundry so maybe in there to brighten up wash days!
