I Actually Miss Blogging!

Well got the tittle of my post done but now sitting here going what the he** am I gonna write about!

I realised last night that I actually miss blogging, not that I was ever the most prolific blogger around and I am sure my posts are not the most riveting that anyone has read but I have realised that I miss putting an idea, rant, finished project out there - ha ha finished project yeah I bet you are all saying "having seen one of them in a while" LOL. I am currently having a bout of startitis, not sure if I want to crochet, knit or cross stitch, I should really be getting the sewing machine out but the amount of energy needed to wipe the dust off it is just not worth it.

Well it is Friday in my little part of the world and I will soon be setting off for home and once there, it might just be wine o'clock and I can sit down and watch episode 4 (?) of Outlander. I am currently recording these and saving them as I have been watching them each week but interruptions abound in my house so I am saving them to rewatch in November when I will home alone for a week, oh apart from the dogs but they enjoy watching tv with me LOL. Oh and one more thing I look forward to on a Friday night is getting the groceries delivered, yes I have jumped on this bandwagon and love it, no more fighting over the last lettuce, specials being sold out, I just order online and it gets delivered to my door....... (happy sigh with glass of wine in hand)

So where ever you read my blog from I will be returning to try and post more regularly but until my next post Ciao :)

Amazing What You Can Achieve On a Cold Wintery Weekend

Yes winter is coming (sorry couldn't resist a GoT reference LOL) and with it comes the crystal clear cold days, and what does one do on these days, why get out early get the chores done and then sit in front of the heater, watch DVD's and finish off some crafty stuff that has been lying around for a few weeks.

No 1 achievement was finishing off my Kindle cover..... used Lily Sugar N Cream cotton yarn. The Sugar N Cream was purchased from HERE

No 2  knit a scarf from ruffle yarn - this yarn also came from the same place as I got the cotton from for my Kindle cover.

No 3 continued on my current cross stitch project - Glendon Place "Franks Family Portrait", stitched on 28ct Pumpkin Flambe from

Quick Update

Well the cooler weather has arrived with a bang. We had decent rain for the first time in months over the weekend and this morning it was 8deg C when I got up. Brrrr.

We are heading over to Melbourne on Friday for a long weekend, catching up with the many friends that now live over there, hitting a couple of AFL games and fingers crossed some shopping. I probably only have Sunday morning to myself but that is enough to send the boys off and give me some me time to hit the stores.

Here is an update of my Lizzie Kate Mystery Sampler as of last weekend. I have now retired it to the "purple basket of works in progress" and pulled out something else that I have had sitting around unfinished for years (photo to come of this later :) )

Lizzie Kate Progress

Sorry for the quality of the photo, it was taken on my phone.........This was the progress to date late Saturday afternoon. I was watching Game of Thrones Season 3 so didn't get as much done as I would like.
I am really enjoying stitching this and as of Sunday afternoon (while watching Mad Men) I had added another pumpkin and I don't have much more to do before part 1 is finished which is the boarder below the two pumpkins.

I Have A New Place To Shop!

And just when you thought I had given up blogging up I pop again LOL!

Things have been hectic over in my small corner of the world and we are currently experiencing a bit of an Indian Summer but the mornings are getting darker and a few nights a couple of weeks ago the hoodie had to come out, but I'm not complaining as I think I am ready for winter and the dragging out of trackie pants and ugg boots.  Any hoo back on to what my post is really about.

When shopping I try to purchase things that don't add to the the woes of the earth and I have found a one stop shop that is great Lush . No testing on animals is another big thing. And the best news is Lush stores can be found in many countries around the world. :)

My current favs are

The smiley and revitalising citrus shower gel for carefree hippies. Our pink grapefruit shower gel is a magic potion to make the office seem inviting and dreary Monday mornings. It’s made with fresh and juicy pink grapefruits

Jungle Conditioner One sniff of our tropical solid conditioner and you'll think you're in a fruity jungle, flying on a vine from tree to tree. Made without packaging (so there's no litter in the jungle) or preservatives (it dissolves into the earth without harm), and a base of cocoa butter that melts into hair leaving it glossy and smooth. Fresh organic avocado extract nourishes and bananas moisturize and soften

Karma Komba Shampoo Bar Calm, fragrant hair and scalp and fewer tangles. Karma Komba is the shampoo bar to calm hair that keeps starting fights and ends up in tangles. (Use Jungle solid conditioner, too.) We scent it with our beautifully calming, mentally elevating Karma fragrance. It has toning orange oil, with pine and patchouli to help keep your scalp soothed and free of problems.
And I have just bought some of this to try

Sexy Peel Soap The wake-you-up-for-breakfast citrus one. What wakes you up in the morning? The birds singing? A set of four alarm clocks? Or a hungry cat yowling by your bed? Whatever your method, we recommend Sexy Peel to bring you back for breakfast. Use our fresh lemon, grapefruit and lime juice soap to wash away sleepiness and breathe in revitalizing fruitiness.

What I Am Working On

Well I have finished one cross stitch project for 2014 (pictures will be posted once I charge my camera). I then decided to go through my WIP/UFO basket, which is huge by the way LOL and grab something out of there to work on.....

I put my hand in......hovered over a ziplock bag......moved my hand again and pulled out the next ziplock bag....opened it up and thought "I don't even remember buying that, let alone starting it". I had put in a grand total of about 30 stitches!! So onto the q-snaps it went I started stitching on it and then had a lightbulb moment as to why it got put in the bucket!! It was stitched on linen and linen is not my most favorite thing to stitch on but I am persevering and it is slowly coming together.

Again a picture of my progress will be posted once the camera is charged :)  But I did go online and find a picture of what it will look like when I have finished..........
