Well it is that time of year again....
I will be flying out on Sunday to spend the holiday's with my mum in New Zealand, so the next couple of days will be frantic with last minute shopping, clearing my desk at work, cleaning up the house, getting in supplies for the other half and the furbabies, packing, blah blah blah.
My mum doesn't have internet or even a computer and I will not be putting myself out to find free WiFi so this will be my last post until next year.
So I would like to wish all my bloggie friends a safe and happy Christmas, Yule, Festive Season or what ever it may be to you and I look foward to catching up with you all again in 2014.

Well What A Month.....
Spring time in Australia heralds wedding season.
We attended two weddings this month one entailing an overnight stay and the other a 4 day weekend and three nights away from home.
The first wedding was MOTH's kind of "step daughter" and MOTH had the pleasure of giving her away.
It was a lovely wedding, beside a lake with kangaroos hopping around and ducklings swimming on the lake.
The second wedding was very good friends of ours and our ex next door neighbours - they now live interstate and we try and catch up when we can.
This wedding was held here and with Albany being known for its changeable weather it truly put on a glorious day for the wedding and reception after waking up to showers and overcast conditions.
I had never been to Albany before and I would love to go back and have a better look around, but one place we did check out was Emu Point, some people were in swimming already but let me tell you I wasn't one of them LOL
So what else has been happening in my little corner of the world......well I picked up a grab bag from Fabric Traders and this is what I got
The offcuts are of a decent size and have ideas I just need the time to get them going. But as I fly out Dec 22 or 23 for New Zealand I really doubt anything is going to happen until after the new year.
I have finished all my exchanges for the year and am just waiting on stuff to arrive at its destination - oops no I haven't I have christmas cards to write in and post! That will be next weeks job :)
I have picked up some lovely vintage dresses recently and will take some photos for another blog post.
And to finish off, I treated myself to a new votive holder for Halloween........

Well the birthday holiday trip has come and gone. I just love visiting Melbourne and with this trip taking us out of the city confines it showed us what else Victoria has to offer.
The Great Ocean Road is something that I highly recommend that you do if you get the chance, we meet some lovely people and saw some amazing things. So without further ado here are some holiday snaps.

Just for Something Different
Now I follow a lot of blogs and I am sure that many of you do too. But what I am going to do is once a week or even once every two weeks I am going to post a link to a blog that I follow and I really hope that one or two of you who read my blog will click on the link and find a new blog to follow..... does that make sense :)
So starting tomorrow I will post a link that might take you to a new world..........
Oh and some blogs I follow tend to appeal to my sense of humor so for that I apologise in advance - just remember that you can always use the back arrow....

Still Here and Things To Show You
Yep I am still here and everything is pretty much still the same ole same ole.
But I do have some stuff to show you..........
Lizzie Kate's Dog Lessons for People is finally finished. I love doing LK designs as there is no backstitching :)
This was stitched on 32ct Tan Temptations from http://www.sassysfabbys.com/ using DMC.
I am just waiting now for the fabric to arrive from the US to start my next major project meanwhile I am stitching on some UFO's that I have accumulated over the years LOL
I have also dragged out the sewing machine wiped away the dust bunnies and made a couple of things. The funny thing was I needed to wind a new bobbin and had to find the instruction booklet to help me out, yes I don't use my machine nearly enough LOL.
Here is one of first things I finished off this weekend using re purposed fabrics - the black velvet is a cut off that someone sent me and the purple lining is the top half of an outfit I bought years ago (read shirt and what was I thinking when I bought it!!). I still have the skirt to pull apart and reuse but I have some ideas floating around already. I tend to save ribbons from stuff that I get and I managed to use that too.
It is a bag to hold my tarot cards.
And finally I came across a couple of tea towels that my mum had sent me over the course of the last couple of years and they are really to nice to dry dishes with so what better thing to do with them than............ta da............sew them together and make a tablecloth. I still need to edge them but I found some kiwi themed fabrics in my stash and I will see what I can do with that.
Well that is what I have been up to over the last few weeks. I love the cooler weather as the creativeness seems to flow better and nothing better than settling down in front of the heater, watching tv and being crafty.

Things That Make You Go Mmmmm - Monday
Okay, just had to share this......
I have about a 10 minute dawdle to work once the bus drops me off and I often vary the walk but cutting through different arcades. Well this morning I was wandering through an arcade on my way to the escalators when I happened to see this school girl attempt to step onto the down escalator thinking that it was the up escalator (okay in her defense they had swapped the escalators around ;-) but what made me shake my head in amazement was that she still tried to get on the down escalator to go up 2 more times LOL
* her parents must be so proud of the money they are shelling out for her education :-)

My First Giveaway!!!
Call me impulsive, call me reckless, just don't call me late for dinner :)
I have decided to do a giveaway and it is so easy to enter that you will be clammering to join in.....
All you need to do is be a follower of my blog and put a comment on this post and have a valid way of me contacting you if you win. Now how simple is that.
I suck at maths that is why it is gonna be so easy to enter, I would get too confused doing the 2 entries if you do this, and an extra entry if you do that LOL.
The winner will get a package of goodies personally picked by me. Now don't worry if you are not a crafty person, still enter as I will adapt the package to suit the winner.
But it will include items relating to..... (no real rabbits or kangaroos will be harmed in the distribution of prizes)
Good luck and entries close Tuesday 12pm 26 March 2013 (Perth Time) with the winner being contacted shortly thereafter.

Where Did February Go!
It is hard to believe that we are nearly at the end of week 1 in March...I have a feeling this year is going to go super quick.
This year I have a big birthday ending in 0 and we are going to head interstate for a week. I managed to get a super good deal on flights to Melbourne :)
My mum is going to come over from New Zealand and join us then come over to Perth for a visit.
We have decided to hire a car and do the Great Ocean Road, which is something that has been on our to do list for a very long time.......
Also my mum has never been to an AFL match so I think we will try and squish one of them in to, hey who can resist a chance to legitimately ogle things like this.......
Any hoo, I will post more about this upcoming trip in future blog posts as what I really was going to show and tell was how some of my crafty things are coming on.....
The picture above is my progress on Lizzie Kates "Dog Lessons for People", I am really enjoying this one and the big bonus is no backstitch whoo hoo LOL
And this is the progress on my stash buster crochet blanket, this is just something that I am plodding along on using up whatever stash I have in my yarn bucket, I am really hoping that I have another ball of the greenie colour that I am currently using before I have to head back onto the stripes.
This will look really nice on the new lounge suite that we went out and bought on the weekend. We haven't had it delivered yet but here is a sneak peak........
The dogs have totally wrecked the other one, it is so embarrassing that I can't even show you a picture LOL
Well thats about it for now, till next time.............................

Where Oh Where Is February Going
Wow, I can't believe that we are half way through February already!
MOTH* has given up smoking, it has been 3 days so far. He has been using the patch method and fingers crossed when I get home from work tonight some of his crankiness has moved on LOL. He wanted me to give up at the same time but well both of us cranky in the same house at the same time let me just tell you my blog wouldn't be getting updated unless I had computer access in the "Big House". Now don't get me wrong I want to give up but I have figured that I will wait a few weeks until MOTH is over the worst then give it a go.
On the crafty side of things I haven't been doing any stitching as I am just to beat when I get home from work and the eyes don't want to cooperate, but rest assured I have been keeping the hands busy by crocheting up a stripey blanket using my scraps, if you are very good followers I might even post a picture after the weekend :)
I went out at lunch time today as you do when it is a million degrees outside (slight exaggeration, today it was only supposed to get to 35C) and picked up some new DVD's they were just over $6 each so can't complain about that..............
Now a question for you all - How many of you DVR stuff from the TV and then forget that you have got it??
I was going through mine the other day and found amongst other things......
So now the decision is what shall I watch this weekend, that is after the normal weekend chores are completed :)

I think I saw this when it first came out but I can't remember |
Read the back of this one and thought "why not" |
If I can put up with Mr Cruise I should be able to get through this one |
Love me some good ole Stephen King movies |
Everyone needs a laugh every now and then |

I was going through mine the other day and found amongst other things......
- A recording of the news from over 12 months ago (when we had the bushfire)
- The Lion King movie (and we don't have kids or grandkidlits)
- The last two episodes of Once Upon A Time (which I thought I had forgotten to DVR)
- The Hangover (love this movie so should really just buy a copy)
- The Bucket List (can't get into this movie, have tried a couple of time)
- Must Love Dogs (I have just read the book and the movie was on tv at the same time) - Why bother basing a movie on a book when you use probably 10% of the book, I was super disappointed in this movie
- The Queen (Helen Mirren is just awesome as Her Maj) - I love this movie Helen Mirren is wonderful , mind you I'm not sure about the Tony Blair factor and if he really had that much say in the whole matter.
- The Exorcist (Love me some good horror)
So now the decision is what shall I watch this weekend, that is after the normal weekend chores are completed :)

I Got Mail
Okay 2013 was supposed to be the year of no new stash buying but hey who can't resist a bargain, especially when that bargain includes FREE SHIPPING. And it isn't technically stash buying when it will help me get rid of stash is it?
*images from Amazon but books bought from candobooks.com.au (proudly supporting Australian companies when I can)
I have so much yarn lying around that something seriously needs to be done and hopefully these books can be part of the answer.
Just a word of warning if you follow my lead and purchase the one skein wonders book be aware that there are corrections for some of the patterns that need to be downloaded from the publishers website.
Well onwards and upwards towards the weekend my friends
